A Conversation with LSE Professor Dr. Thomas Curran

September 3 @ 5:30 PM EDT - 8:30 PM EDT EDT

The Canadian Friends of LSE – Toronto Chapter (CFLSE-TO) cordially invites OCST members to their Fall Speaker Series – The Perils of perfectionism in the Workplace – A Conversation with LSE Professor, Dr. Thomas Curran on Wednesday, September 3.

Dr. Thomas Curran is an acclaimed professor of Psychology at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is also a world’s leading expert on perfectionism and author of the international best-selling book, The Perfection Trap.

‍His TED Talk on perfectionism received over three million views and he has written for major international publications such as TIME magazine and the Harvard Business Review. His work has been featured in the BBC, New Scientist, New York Times, CNN, and Wall Street Journal.

‍Through his extensive research, public speaking, consulting services, and academic instruction, Dr. Curran is leading the global conversation on perfectionism.

His mission is to uncover:

1. The root of perfectionism,
2. What it does to us,
3. Why it’s on the rise,
4. And what we can do to stop it.

As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, Dr Thomas Curran is fighting against the modern-day imperative of ‘do more, have more’ and instead brings realism to the table, teaching us that the unrelenting treadmill of perfectionism is not only burning us out but ultimately destructive for our happiness and performances.

So don’t miss out on this great opportunity to hear more about this intriguing subject-matter with your fellow LSE alumni members.

The evening will also include a networking reception and a cash bar.
