2017 Oxford-Cambridge Cricket Match

The annual Oxford vs Cambridge Toronto alumni cricket match took place last Sunday June 25th at the Toronto Police Cricket Grounds in Scarborough. Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the first game in 1982 the two teams weathered a couple of major thunderstorms, including pea-sized hail, but managed to play a close fought game.

It was a low scoring affair with Oxford reaching 81 all out off 19.5 overs and Cambridge winning the game with 81/5 off 18.2 overs. Notable performances from alumni included some excellent bowling from Yasir Shah and Alexander Milodowski who skittled the Oxford top order. Oxford fought back by taking some quick Cambridge wickets before Ian Dunlop and Yasir Shah’s partnership brought the light blues home in a fairly comfortable manner.
