A note below from Ken McCarter
As many of you will be aware, I am a director of Canada’s National Ballet School, and for the past few years the Oxford & Cambridge Society of Toronto has attended one of the School’s inspiring student performances. This year again the School is delighted to welcome our Society back for the 2015 Spring Showcase.
The Spring Showcase is taking place on Thursday May 21st, and I would like to invite you to join me to observe the current students of the Professional Ballet Program in a mix of classical and contemporary works, not to mention a few student-choreographed pieces that are sure to surprise and delight us as much as they have in past years. This year’s program includes excerpts from Erik Bruhn’s Swan Lake, together with Come in, a work by renowned contemporary choreographer (and graduate of Canada’s National Ballet School) Aszure Barton.
Although we will not be hosting a pre-reception this year, the School has very graciously agreed to include admission to the VIP donor lounge at no additional cost, so that our group can enjoy some cocktails and hors d’oeuvres during intermission.
Should you be inclined at the same time to make a donation to the School, it would be very much appreciated. Any gift you can give will go a long way in helping talented and deserving young dancers attend this culturally renowned institution; a dream that for 75% of students would not be realized without support from donors. Please e-mail me at kenmccarter@rogers.com and I can provide a donation form.
