Fantastic Spring Showcase at Canada’s National Ballet School, Thursday May 22, 2014, 6.30 pm
May 22, 2014 @ 6:30 PM EDT - 10:30 PM EDT EST
Presented each year, Spring Showcase at Canada’s National Ballet School is an important tradition that is used as both a performance vehicle for students in the School’s full-time Professional Ballet Program and a way for NBS to share dance and celebrate leading choreographers with the community. This highly anticipated event offers a special glimpse at the stars of tomorrow while embracing some of the most well-known classical and modern ballets of all time.
Spring Showcase 2014 will present two world premieres of newly-commissioned works by internationally-renowned choreographers and NBS alumni: Robert Binet’s world premiere Wave Ring, and Demis Volpi’s Chalkboard Memories. NBS students will also perform The Sleeping Beauty Act III, choreographed by Marius Petipa in 1890 and set to music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
This new event has been specially opened to Oxford and Cambridge, their friends and family. We will have the privilege to access the VIP donor lounge with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails during the two intermissions.
