MARTIN BUCKLE
Martin Buckle is a long-time board member of the British Canadian Chamber of Trade and Commerce, where he advises on trade issues and works to maintain strong commercial and cultural ties between Canada and the United Kingdom. An accountant by training, Martin worked for several multi-nationals including KPMG, Alcan, Rio Tinto, before founding his own management consulting business, Bjorklund & Company of Canada Ltd. He has worked in the UK, France, Switzerland, Oman, and, of course, Canada. He is a Freeman of the City of London and a graduate of Oxford University, where he studied Modern History at Worcester College.
W. KENNETH McCARTER
Ken McCarter (Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge) was a respected lawyer, a long-time supporter of the arts, and a key member of the Executive of the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Toronto. He was also a Senior Fellow and Chair of the Quadrangle Society at Massey College. He exemplified the best of both institutions, and we look forward to sharing an evening of ideas and fellowship in memory of our mutual friend.
MASSEY COLLEGE
Massey College is a postgraduate residential college within the University of Toronto. Opened in 1963, the college was designed by renowned architect Ron Thom, who was inspired by the traditions of Oxford and Cambridge. The college motto is “Where people and ideas intersect.”
